November 4, 2023: The King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck arrived at IORA Retreat in Karizanga, Assam on Saturday. The King arrived in Assam on Friday for a 3-day visit to the state.

Assam's Minister of Environment and Forest Chandra Mohan Patowary and Agricultural Minister Atul Bora along with other senior officials welcomed the Bhutan King.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Agricultural Minister Atul Bora said, “It was a great privilege to welcome His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, as he arrived in Kaziranga. I believe that the Druk Gyalpo's visit will promote tourism in Kaziranga and further bolster the age-old Indo-Bhutan friendship & cooperation.”
