March 20, 2025: Exciting news for Malayalam movie fans! The highly anticipated film Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, is set to hit theatres on March 27, 2025. This action packed movie will make history as the first Malayalam film to be released on IMAX.

Mohanlal shared the thrilling news on his official Instagram handle, expressing his pride and excitement. “It gives us immense pride to announce that #L2E #Empuraan will be the first ever film from the Malayalam cinema industry to release on IMAX.” He wrote.

Empuraan is sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film Lucifer, which starred Mohanlal, Manju Warrior and Tovino Thomas. The film reunites Mohanlal with actor Prithviraaj Sukumaran, who directs Empuraan. Adding to the excitement, Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn joins the cast.
