March 25, 2025: A viral message claiming that the govt of India has launched a pan India helpline number 104, “Blood on Call”, to meet the country’s blood requirement has been deemed misleading.

According to fact-checks conducted by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the govt isn’t running any such schemes. The number 104 is actually used for various helpline services in some states, but not for “Blood on Call” service.
