Guwahati: A man accused of stealing at least 21 computers was arrested by the Assam Police from Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh.

As per police, a team from the Paltanbazar Police apprehended the accused person, Sandip alias Sandip Dodiya, in connection with the theft of 21 new laptops from a shop in Paltanbazar area of Guwahati, Assam.

The accused, a 32-year-old employee of the shop, was arrested from his residence in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on March 18, 2025.

The police team following his arrest, recovered 11 laptops and three computer monitors from the accused's house.

Further investigation led to the recovery of five more stolen laptops from different shops in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.

The police are continuing their investigation to ensure that all those involved in the theft are apprehended.
