Guwahati: A man was reportedly killed during a tiger attack at Bokakhat in Golaghat, Assam on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Gopinath Mili.

Mili was reportedly attacked while chasing mosquitoes near his house and despite his screams, the tiger dragged him into the dense hub.

Locals who rushed to the scene found blood clots, Mili's clothes and sandals, as well as signs of the tiger's presence.

A team of 15 forest personnel recovered Mili's body after an intense search and have kept it for further procedures.

The incident has left Mili's family in grief. A postmortem of the body was scheduled on Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.
