Massive Protest by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti in Bordoloni Against Alleged Corruption in Orunodoi Scheme

March 24, 2025: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) staged a massive protest in Bordoloni, Dhemaji district, against alleged irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme. The protestors accused political leaders of manipulating the selection process and favoring certain individuals for personal and political gains.

The demonstration began with a rally from Bordoloni Chariali, which culminated in front of the Bordoloni Block Development Office, where the district committee of KMSS voiced their grievances. Protestors alleged that beneficiaries were being chosen at the residences of political leaders instead of through a fair and transparent selection process. They also raised concerns over political discrimination in the scheme’s implementation.

Apart from the Orunodoi scheme, KMSS leaders also highlighted other key demands, including an increase in financial aid for farmers from ₹2000 to ₹5000, an increase in old-age pensions from ₹250 to ₹2000, and the implementation of geo-tagging for providing government housing to economically weaker families.

The protestors further accused the block office of being involved in various corrupt practices and demanded accountability from the Block Development Officer. They insisted that the administration take immediate steps to address these grievances and ensure that government schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries without any political bias or corruption.

The demonstration saw participation from a large number of KMSS members and local farmers, who vowed to continue their movement until their demands were met.
