Guwahati: A shocking robbery occurred at Kalain in Cachar, Assam, leaving two persons injured and a trail of destruction.

The incident took place at the residence of local businessman Binoy Deb, where a 10-member gang of robbers stormed in around 2 pm.

The robbers, armed with guns, looted gold ornaments and a substantial amount of cash, beating up family members in the process. When neighbours attempted to intervene, the robbers opened fire, injuring one man.

A total of two persons were injured in the incident and are currently undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The robbers fled the scene, leaving behind a sense of unease. A large police contingent arrived at the scene overnight and has launched an investigation into the incident.
