March 21, 2025: The 2nd edition of Khelo India Para Games 2025 was officially declared open by union sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi stadium complex. This eight-day championship will witness over 1300 para athletes competiting in six sports disciplines.
Mr Mandaviya was joined by esteemed guests, including Dr Virendra Kumar, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment and Sri Kento Jini, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of Arunachal Pradesh along with six paralympians in a unique torch rally to mark the commencement of the games.
During the opening ceremony, Dr Mandaviya emphasized the importance of determination, hard work and opportunities. He cited India’s impressive performance at the Paris Paralympics 2024, where the country won 29 medals, as a testament to the potential of Indian para athletes to excel globally.
The KIPG is an integral part of the Khelo India Mission, aimed at providing a platform for talented athletes to showcase their skills. The first edition of the games was held in December 2023, and the second edition will feature six disciplines:

The games will be held across three venues in the capital from March 20 to 27, 2025.
