Guwahati: In a crackdown on illegal entry, four individuals were deported from Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills on Saturday by the Khasi Students' Union (KSU) and the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) Jowai unit.
The four individuals, who claimed to be from Assam, were attempting to enter Sohmynting village when they were detained by the groups.
However, the outfits claimed that they failed to produce valid documents to prove their identity.
As per reports, led by FKJGP leaders L Dhar and M Pyrtuh, along with KSU Jowai Unit members, the groups took swift action and sent the individuals back. This move aims to enforce strict vigilance against illegal entry into the state.
The organizations have also issued a stern warning, cautioning that anyone attempting to enter Meghalaya without proper documentation will face similar action.
