Guwahati: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized approximately 109kg of methamphetamine, valued at Rs 88 crore, in coordinated operations across Manipur and Assam.
Reports stated that four members of an international drug cartel have been apprehended.
The illicit drugs, originating from Moreh in Manipur, were destined for Karimganj in Assam.
NCB officials based on an input, intercepted two vehicles, recovering 102.39kg of methamphetamine tablets in Manipur and 7.48kg in Assam.
The investigation is ongoing, with senior NCB officials set to convene in Imphal to oversee the probe and address the influx of drugs from Myanmar.
