New Delhi: A recent attack on a paramilitary convoy in Pakistan's Balochistan province has left five people dead, including three Pakistani soldiers. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has released a video claiming responsibility for the attack, which occurred on a highway in Noshki on Sunday.

According to reports and officials, the attack involved a suicide attacker ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the convoy. Following the blast, other terrorists opened fire on the FC personnel but were met with retaliatory firing that killed two of them. Two civilians and three soldiers also lost their lives in the attack.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the attack, calling it "cowardly" and stating that it "cannot shake our resolve against terrorism".

This attack comes after the BLA hijacked a passenger train, the Jaffar Express, in Balochistan province last Tuesday, holding hostages for 36 hours and killing 31 soldiers and civilians.

The BLA, which has around 5,000 members, is fighting for independence in the oil and mineral-rich province, which borders Iran and Afghanistan. The group has accused Pakistani military generals and the Punjabi elite of looting the province's natural resources for their own benefit.
