Imphal: The Indian authorities deported 27 Myanmar nationals, including a minor, who had entered Manipur illegally.



The deportation took place at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate in Moreh, Manipur's Tengnoupal district.



The Myanmar nationals had completed their jail terms and were being held at a foreign detention centre near the Manipur Central Jail in the Imphal East district. They were handed over to Myanmar immigration officers at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Moreh.



A team of officials from the Moreh police station, Indian immigration, and 5 Assam Rifles personnel facilitated the deportation process.



The official had transported the detained Myanmar nationals from the detention centre in Imphal East district on Thursday.



The deportation was carried out smoothly, with Indian government officials handing over the Myanmar nationals to their counterparts at around on Friday.
