March 23, 2025: India is set to host the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, marking the country’s fourth time hosting the tournament after previous editions in 1978, 1997 and 2013. The 2025 edition will feature 8 teams competing in 31 matches.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in October, 2025. The opening ceremony and the first match will take place in Vizag , while Guwahati will also see a match between India and South Africa.
India’s hosting rights were confirmed by ICC in July 2022, following a competitive bidding process.
India’s hosting of the tournament is expected to boost the popularity of women’s cricket in the country.
