July 15, 2021: After petrol and diesel, milk will get costlier by Rs 3 per litre in Assam from Friday.

Earlier, the wholesale rate of milk was Rs 51 per litre and the retail price was Rs 53. With the increase in milk prices announced by Guwahati Milkmen’s Association, the new prices would be Rs 54 for wholesale and Rs 56 for retail.

On July 1, the Greater Guwahati Dairy Farmers’ Association had hiked the price of milk.

The Guwahati Milkmen’s Association said that the increase had to be done as they have to buy the milk from the Guwahati Dairy Farmers’ Association at a higher price.
