March 22, 2025: A heated exchange between a woman journalist, Shivangi Shukla, and a cab driver has gone viral on social media. The dispute began when the driver allegedly insisted on being paid 95 paise extra, which the journalist refused.
According to the journalist, the incident occurred on the outskirts of Noida, where the driver refused to drop her at exact location mentioned in the Uber app. When she tried to pay the bill of 129.95, she accidently typed 129 on the UPI, prompting the driver to demand the remaining 95 paise.
The journalist claimed that the driver became aggressive and started screaming, making her feel threatened and concerned. She alleged that the driver tried to “guilt trip” her saying she was rich and should give him more money.
In response, the driver took out his phone and accused the journalist of trying to intimidate him. The journalist then took his phone and jumped out of the car, feeling that her safety was in danger.
The driver later apologized to the journalist, but she claimed that he refused her offer to compensate him and walked away.
