Guwahati: The violent clash in Manipur's Imphal East district has led to the arrest of six individuals, including four militants from the United National Liberation Front-Pambei [UNLF-P] and two members of the radical Meitei group, Arambai Tenggol (AT).
The incident occurred on Saturday when 15-20 members of AT stormed the residence of UNLF-P militant Irengbam Nandakumar Singh, leaving four UNLF-P members injured.
The arrested AT members have been identified as Kshetrimayum Nikhil Singh (28) and Yumnam Pringanba Singh (23).
Security forces conducted raids in the Khurai area, seizing significant items from an AT office, including three vehicles, 15 grams of suspected heroin, eight bulletproof plates, three wireless handsets, two swords, one INSAS bayonet, two .303 bayonets and other incriminating documents.
The recovered materials suggest that AT may have been involved in illegal activities. The incident has escalated tensions in the area, and security forces are on high alert to prevent further violence.
