Guwahati: Three youths, all said to be students were arrested by the police for allegedly being involved in reckless driving and stunts in Guwahati, Assam.
The three students were arrested for performing a reckless stunt near Jayanagar, as per reports.
Identified as Raj Malakar, Fardeen Hussain Chowdhury, and Kavya Pallava, they were studying in different educational institutions. The accused were taken into custody by Panbazar police from the Railway Colony and Sixmile in Guwahati.
According to eyewitnesses, the trio was seen riding on top of a car, with Fardeen Hussain Chowdhury smoking a cigarette while perched on the roof. Meanwhile, Raj Malakar was behind the wheel, and Kavya Pallava opened the door and stood up, posing a significant risk to themselves and other road users.
Police suspect that the incident may have occurred on an alcohol-hit highway, which further exacerbates the recklessness of the stunt. The arrested students are facing charges for their dangerous behaviour.
