January 3, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today described the day as a pivotal moment for Delhi's development as he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several transformative projects. Addressing a gathering in Ashok Vihar, the prime minister highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life and infrastructure in the national capital.

Among the projects inaugurated were 1,675 newly constructed flats in Ashok Vihar for residents of JJ (Jhuggi Jhopri) clusters, marking a significant step toward providing dignified housing for economically weaker sections. The Prime Minister also unveiled the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar, a modern commercial hub poised to boost business and trade in the city, alongside the new General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, which aim to enhance housing facilities for government employees.

Additionally, the integrated office complex of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Dwarka was inaugurated, promising improved administrative efficiency in the education sector.

In a major boost to higher education infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stones for three projects worth ₹600 crore for Delhi University. These include the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar, the Western Campus at Dwarka, and the Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh, all designed with state-of-the-art facilities to cater to the growing needs of students.

The prime minister, in his remarks, expressed confidence that these initiatives would bring transformative change to Delhi, emphasizing their role in improving living standards, fostering economic opportunities, and strengthening educational infrastructure. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Delhi a global city through sustained development and innovation.
