December 31, 2024: The mother of an Indian-origin whistleblower connected to OpenAI, who was found dead in the United States last month, has raised serious allegations of foul play in her son’s death. She claims her independent investigation, which included insights from OpenAI’s ChatGPT and findings from a private investigator, contradicts the police’s conclusion that her son died by suicide.
Speaking to India Today, the grieving mother detailed the inconsistencies she discovered. Upon arriving at her son’s apartment, she found the space in disarray, with visible signs of a struggle in the bathroom. She also identified separate blood spots that suggested her son may have been struck. No suicide note was found at the scene, further deepening her doubts.
The mother said she used ChatGPT to analyze photographs of the blood patterns. According to the AI-generated analysis, the splatter did not align with typical characteristics of a suicide case. This assessment was bolstered by the conclusions of a private investigator, who also found evidence inconsistent with the suicide theory.
Adding to her concerns, the police based their conclusion on CCTV footage that reportedly showed no one entering the apartment before her son’s death. However, the mother pointed out that the apartment had two additional entrances—a backdoor and a garage entrance—that were not monitored by cameras. She alleged that the police dismissed these critical details, which she believes could have been pivotal to the investigation.
Expressing frustration, she criticized the police for failing to consider her son’s mental health and overall disposition. “My son wasn’t depressed. They didn’t even ask me about his mental state,” she said, questioning the thoroughness of the investigation.
Now, the mother is calling for an FBI inquiry to uncover the truth behind her son’s untimely death. The case has garnered significant attention, with questions emerging about the handling of the investigation and the role of technology in assisting such probes. As she continues her pursuit of justice, the case remains under intense public scrutiny.
