Nayab Singh Saini Sworn in as Haryana Chief Minister Amidst Celebrations and Prominent Attendance

October 17, 2024: In a significant political development, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on Thursday. The grand ceremony took place at the Dussehra Ground in Panchkula, drawing an audience that included Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several key figures from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The oath of office was administered by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, marking a moment of pride for Saini and his supporters. The event was also attended by Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari, along with chief ministers from various NDA-ruled states, underscoring the BJP's stronghold in Indian politics.

In a show of unity within the party, Saini walked onto the stage alongside his predecessor and mentor, Manohar Lal Khattar. Speculations about the leadership dynamics were further laid to rest when senior leader Anil Vij, who had been rumored as a contender for the chief ministerial position, was sworn in as a cabinet minister in Saini's new government.

Saini's return to power comes just days after he led the BJP to a historic victory in the Haryana Assembly elections held on October 5. Against expectations from exit polls, the BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats, solidifying its position for a third consecutive term in the state.

The 54-year-old Dalit leader, who successfully contested the Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra district, was unanimously elected as the BJP’s legislature party leader on Wednesday. Following this, he met with Governor Dattatreya to stake his claim to form the government, setting the stage for his administration's next chapter.
