October 17, 2024: A shocking chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has unveiled a chilling plot to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, with a contract worth Rs. 25 lakh reportedly orchestrated by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. The plan targeted the actor near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra.
The chargesheet identifies five individuals involved in the conspiracy, detailing an alarming scheme that included acquiring sophisticated weaponry such as AK-47s and M-16 rifles from Pakistan. The accused also intended to use the Turkish-made Zigana firearm, previously linked to the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. In a disturbing twist, the gang had allegedly enlisted minors to carry out the assassination, with many operatives currently hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.
Between August 2023 and April 2024, approximately 60 to 70 individuals monitored Salman Khan's movements, particularly around his residences in Bandra, Panvel, and Goregaon Film City. The investigation revealed that Sukkha, recently apprehended in Haryana's Panipat, had delegated the assassination task to designated shooter Ajay Kashyap, alias AK, along with four accomplices.
The police report indicates that Kashyap’s reconnaissance concluded that due to the actor’s extensive security measures and bulletproof vehicles, high-caliber weapons were essential for the plot's success. Sukkha reportedly contacted a Pakistan-based arms dealer named Dogar via video call, showcasing the firearms and negotiating terms for the arms deal, which included a 50 percent advance payment.
Furthermore, the chargesheet highlighted that all shooters were waiting for the signal from Goldie Brar, a Canada-based gangster, and Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi. Post-assassination, the shooters had devised a plan to regroup in Kanyakumari before fleeing to Sri Lanka by boat, ultimately aiming to reach a country beyond the reach of Indian law enforcement.
