October 17, 2024: In a concerning incident today, the engine and seven coaches of the Agartala-Mumbai Express derailed at Dibolong station in Assam around 3:55 PM. Fortunately, initial reports indicate no casualties or significant injuries among the passengers.



The train, identified as the 12520 Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, had departed from Agartala this morning. The derailment occurred near the Lumding-Badarpur hill section, raising immediate concerns for passenger safety.



In response to the situation, an accident relief train and a medical train have been dispatched from Lumding to the site, accompanied by senior officials to oversee the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts. Authorities have also suspended train operations on the Lumding-Badarpur section as a precautionary measure.
