March 19, 2025: Bill Gates is currently on his third visit to India within three years, marking a significant milestone- the 25th anniversary of the Gates Foundation. During his trip, Gates met with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and shared his enthusiasm about India’s advancements in ag-tech solutions on X.
Gates highlighted India’s efforts in developing cutting-edge ag-tech solutions, enabling farmers to boost crop yields, enhance nutrition and build resilience against climate change. He witnessed firsthand the innovative approaches to climate-smart agriculture during his visit to the Indian Agriculture Research Institute in New Delhi.
The philanthropist also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration on rural development, women empowerment and technology adoption with a focus on supporting India’s Lakhpati Didi initiative.
Furthermore, Gates had a productive discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi covering India’s development, the path to Viksit Bharat@2047 and groundbreaking advancements in health, agriculture and other sectors.
