Guwahati: A team of Dispur Police apprehended three individuals with suspected drugs near Khanapara in Guwahati, Assam.

Police sources said that based on inputs, they intercepted a scooter bearing registration number AS01GA2734 at Khanapara and recovered 57.7 grams of suspected brown sugar.

The seizure was made from a black backpack containing five soap boxes filled with contraband.

Three individuals were apprehended in connection with the seizure.

The accused were identified as Phulsan Ali (35), Saijuddin Paramaniso (35) and Salam Uddin (43), all residents of Dhubri, Assam.

In addition to the brown sugar, the police also seized the scooter and four mobile handsets.

They were all arrested and further investigation has been initated.
