Budhram Pahariya, a resident of the area, allegedly murdered his wife with a dao (machete) and then surrendered to the police.



The incident reportedly took place in the Pakka Line area under the Talap Police Outpost in Tinsukia district, Assam.



According to reports, Budhram Pahariya had been physically abusing his wife for a long time. The incident occurred around 9-10 am on Tuesday.



After allegedly committing the crime, Pahariya washed the dao and surrendered to the police at the Talap Police Outpost around 12 pm.



Locals claim that the incident occurred due to excessive alcohol consumption. They demand strict punishment for the accused.



The body of the deceased woman has been sent to the Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.



The police are investigating the matter, and further action is being taken.
