Union MoS Ravneet Singh Bittu elected unopposed in Rajya Sabha bypoll from Rajasthan

August 27, 2024: Union Minister and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu secured a Rajya Sabha seat from Rajasthan unopposed after the deadline for withdrawing nomination ended on Tuesday.



The nomination for Rajya Sabha bypolls was filed by three candidates including one dummy candidate from BJP. The last date to withdraw nominations for Rajya Sabha byelection was August 27.



Independent candidate Babita Wadhwani’s nomination paper was canceled during scrutiny on August 22.



BJP’s dummy candidate Sunil Kothari withdrew his nomination on August 23, leaving Ravneet Singh Bittu as the sole candidate in the byelection.
