Samay Raina Gets Deadline Extension Till March 10 in ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

February 15, 2025: Comedian Samay Raina has been given time until March 10 to appear before the Mumbai Police in connection with an ongoing probe into controversial remarks made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on the now-deleted YouTube show India’s Got Latent, media reported on Saturday.

Allahbadia, widely known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, sparked a major controversy with his comments about parents and sex during the show, leading to the registration of two FIRs—one in Assam and another in Mumbai—against both him and Raina.

According to a police official quoted by PTI, the Khar police have been unable to contact Allahbadia as his phone remains switched off. When teams from the Mumbai and Assam Police visited his residence, they found it locked.

Meanwhile, Raina’s lawyer approached senior police officials seeking an extension for his client, citing his absence from the country. The police have now granted him until March 10 to record his statement.

Allahbadia had earlier requested the authorities to record his statement at his residence, but the police rejected his plea. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
