February 11, 2025: In a shocking incident, two men brutally murdered their own friend in Maligaon’s Kalpani Garo Basti. The victim, Indrajit Sangma, was stabbed to death with a sharp stick by his two friends, Sunil Marak and Bikash Marak, following a drunken brawl.

According to reports, the three were consuming alcohol on the night of February 9 when a minor disagreement escalated into a physical fight. In a fit of rage, Sunil and Bikash attacked Indrajit with a sharp stick, killing him on the spot.

In an attempt to hide the crime, the accused wrapped Indrajit’s body in plastic and dumped it in a nearby jungle. However, on Monday, a local resident noticed the body and immediately informed Maligaon police.

Following an initial investigation, the police detained Sunil Marak and Bikash Marak for their involvement in the murder. Further investigation is underway.
