February 15, 2025: With the Maha Kumbh Mela witnessing a surge in devotees, the Uttar Pradesh authorities have issued a fresh advisory to regulate bathing and transportation arrangements. The new guidelines aim to ensure smooth movement and safety for pilgrims attending the grand religious event.
According to the latest instructions, specific bathing areas have been designated for devotees coming from different locations. Pilgrims arriving from the Parade Mela region will have access to the Sangam and nearby ghats for their holy dip. Those traveling from the Jhunsi fair area will be directed to the Jhunsi bathing ghats, while devotees from the Arali side will have their own designated ghats in the Arali area. This arrangement has been put in place to manage the large crowds and maintain order at the sacred bathing sites.
In addition to bathing regulations, the administration has declared a “No Vehicle” zone across the Maha Kumbh region to control the overwhelming foot traffic. Only vehicles authorized by the Mela Police, such as emergency medical services, food delivery trucks, and logistics vehicles, will be allowed inside the restricted zone. Other visitors will need to park their vehicles in designated areas outside the main event site. Officials have urged devotees to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a seamless and safe pilgrimage experience.
To further ease travel for devotees, the Northern Railways has introduced special Vande Bharat trains on February 15, 16, and 17. These trains will operate between New Delhi and Varanasi via Prayagraj, offering pilgrims a convenient mode of transportation during the Maha Kumbh rush. The special train from New Delhi will depart at 5:30 AM, reaching Prayagraj at 12:00 PM and Varanasi at 2:20 PM. On the return journey, the train will leave Varanasi at 3:15 PM, stop at Prayagraj at 5:20 PM, and arrive in New Delhi at 11:50 PM.
Speaking about the initiative, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, emphasized that the special Vande Bharat train service aims to provide pilgrims with a comfortable and timely travel experience. Authorities have once again urged devotees to follow all prescribed rules to ensure a peaceful and well-organized Maha Kumbh Mela.
