August 30, 2023: Chess World Cup silver medallist Praggnanandhaa received a grand welcome on his arrival at the Chennai Airport on Wednesday. Many students outside the airport were seen waving the tricolour and holding the banners of ‘World Cup Runner Up’.

Praggnanandhaa said, "I am very happy to see so many people coming here and it is good for Chess."

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa is an Indian chess grandmaster. He became an international master at the age of 10 and a grandmaster at the age of 12. He won the World Youth Chess Championship Under-8 title in 2013, earning him the title of FIDE Master. He won the under-10 title in 2015.
