January 22, 2025: The sacred city of Ayodhya is alive with festivity and spiritual fervor as devotees from across the country celebrate the first anniversary of the Ram Lalla’s Pran-Pratishtha ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Mandir. This significant event marks the consecration of the idol of Lord Ram at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22, 2024, in a grand ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Wednesday, the temple saw a large influx of devotees, eager to commemorate the historic occasion. The atmosphere was filled with devotion as thousands gathered to offer prayers and participate in the ongoing celebrations.
While today marks the anniversary of the Pran-Pratishtha ritual, the official one-year celebration was observed earlier, on January 11, 2025, as announced by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The date, chosen in consultation with saints and in accordance with the Hindu calendar, is known as Paush Shukla Dwadashi. This day has been designated as Pratishtha Dwadashi, a day that will be observed annually going forward in honor of the temple’s consecration.
This year's celebrations also included a special event on the first floor of the temple, where the Pran-Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar was performed. The temple now houses 4.5-foot-tall marble idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Ram's brothers – Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan. The grandeur of these idols and the solemnity of the ceremony added to the sanctity of the occasion.
As Ayodhya continues to be a spiritual hub, the Ram Mandir stands as a symbol of religious unity and historical significance, attracting a steady stream of pilgrims and tourists. The first anniversary of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony has deepened the connection of devotees to this sacred site, further solidifying its place as one of the most revered locations in India.
