October 31, 2024: A 26-year-old man from Kerala has been arrested for allegedly issuing a false bomb threat concerning an Abu Dhabi-bound Air Arabia flight. Mohammed Ijas, hailing from the Palakkad district, reportedly sent an email to the director of Karipur International Airport on Tuesday evening, claiming a bomb was on board the aircraft set to depart from Kozhikode.

Following the receipt of the email, airport authorities promptly filed a complaint, prompting a swift investigation by local police. With the aid of cyber police, investigators were able to trace the source of the threat, leading to Ijas's identification and subsequent arrest.

Authorities emphasized the seriousness of such threats and the potential disruptions they can cause to air travel and security operations. The investigation is ongoing, and Ijas is expected to face charges related to the incident.
