Dense Fog Triggers Bus-Truck Collision in Rajasthan: 30 Injured, 10 Critical

January 2, 2024: A bus carrying 45 passengers collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Dausa on Thursday morning, leaving 30 injured and at least 10 in critical condition. Officials confirmed that dense fog was the primary cause of the accident.

The sleeper bus, en route from Ujjain to Delhi, met with the accident near pillar number 198 close to Ladli Ka Bans village. The impact was devastating, with the front portion of the bus, especially near the driver's seat, completely mangled.

Visuals from the site show the bus reduced to wreckage, highlighting the intensity of the collision. Deputy SP Charul Gupta stated, "This accident occurred due to heavy fog. A sleeper coach bus collided with a truck, and the damage was severe, especially at the front of the bus."

Emergency services rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. Those critically injured were transferred to Jaipur for advanced medical care. Most passengers hailed from Delhi, Sonipat, and Kota.

This tragic incident follows a deadly accident in Rajasthan last month, when an LPG tanker exploded after colliding with a truck on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, killing at least 19 people and engulfing several vehicles in flames.

Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution during the winter months as dense fog significantly reduces visibility, posing heightened risks on the roadways.
