Indian Army Foils Major Infiltration Bid Along LoC, Kills Seven, Including Pakistani Soldiers

February 7, 2025: The Indian Army successfully thwarted an attempted ambush by Pakistani infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, killing seven attackers, including at least three suspected Pakistan Army personnel, sources revealed.

The incident occurred in the Krishna Ghati sector on the intervening night of February 4-5, coinciding with Pakistan’s observance of ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day,’ a move often seen as a propaganda exercise to push its anti-India rhetoric.

According to sources, Indian forces intercepted Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), a specialized unit for cross-border operations, as they attempted to launch an attack on an Indian forward post. Among the seven infiltrators killed, two to three were identified as Pakistan Army regulars, while the remaining were likely affiliated with the terror outfit Al-Badr.

The foiled attack comes at a time when Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his willingness to resolve issues with India, including the Kashmir dispute, through dialogue. However, India has consistently maintained that peace talks can only proceed in an environment free of terror and violence. Notably, Sharif’s statement coincided with reports of commanders from terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) convening in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), exposing the contradictions in Islamabad’s claims.

Diplomatic and trade relations between India and Pakistan have been severely strained since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, a surge in terror attacks in Jammu has claimed the lives of 44 people, including 18 security personnel, in recent months.

India has reiterated its firm stance that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh "were, are, and shall forever" remain an integral part of the country. The latest infiltration attempt further underscores the persistent security threats along the LoC, highlighting the Indian Army’s continued vigilance in countering cross-border terrorism.
