August 9, 2024: Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in the national capital, Indian army personnel on Friday rehearsed a 21-gun salute at Red fort.
Kaushik Sabnis, Major in the Indian Army said that this particular ceremony is not just a gesture of military precision; it is also a gesture of pride and a remembrance of the sacrifices of our forefathers.
Major Sabnis said, “It was a surreal experience and a matter of pride for the entire ceremonial battery to provide 21 gun salutes on the occasion of Independence Day. Now, this particular ceremony is not just a gesture of military precision. It is also a gesture of pride and a remembrance of the sacrifices of our forefathers. In this particular ceremony, we have used seven light field guns for this particular firing day.”
Notably, as India gears up to celebrate its 78th Independence day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the citizens of the nation to make the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campain as mass movement by hoisting the national flog at their homes.
