Eknath Shinde Hospitalized in Thane Amid Health Concerns

December 3, 2024: Maharashtra Caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was admitted to a hospital in Thane on Tuesday after his health showed no improvement, according to sources. The Shiv Sena leader, who has been suffering from a throat infection and fever since last week, was rushed to the medical facility for a thorough examination as doctors continue to monitor his condition.

Shinde had initially traveled to his native village in Satara district on Friday, where reports indicated he was grappling with a high fever. There were also rumors about his dissatisfaction with the ongoing political developments in the state, particularly the formation of the new government. However, health concerns appear to have taken precedence over political matters as Shinde continues to recover.

As Shinde seeks medical attention, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Mahayuti government in Maharashtra are in full swing at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan. The event, scheduled for December 5, is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a key moment in the state’s political landscape.

While former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is being widely speculated as the frontrunner for the Chief Minister's post, the Mahayuti alliance has yet to make an official announcement. The BJP’s legislature party in the state is set to meet on December 4, a day before the swearing-in, to finalize their position.
