Banks to remain closed for 15 days in Octorber

September 30, 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that banks across the country will remain closed for a total of 15 days in October, due to a mix of national holidays and regional observances. This month’s closures include significant festivals such as Durga Puja, Dussehra, and Diwali, as well as Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.



The holiday schedule varies by state, reflecting local traditions and celebrations. Customers are encouraged to check the RBI's official website for specific holiday details applicable to their region, ensuring they can plan their banking needs accordingly.



In addition to the designated holidays, banks will also close on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Despite the closures, customers can continue to access essential banking services online, as facilities like net banking, UPI, and ATMs will remain operational.
