January 30, 2025: An all-party meeting has commenced at the Parliament Annexe building today, setting the stage for the upcoming Budget session of Parliament. The meeting, which is aimed at ensuring smooth proceedings during the session, is chaired by prominent Union Ministers, including Rajnath Singh, Kiren Rijiju, JP Nadda, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and L Murugan.
Among the attendees are leaders from various political parties, with Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, K Suresh, and Gaurav Gogoi present, alongside Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O'Brien. Other political figures such as RSP MP NK Premachandran, BJD MP Sasmit Patra, DMK MP TR Baalu, SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav, and JMM MP Mahua Maji were also in attendance.
RSP MP NK Premachandran, while speaking before the meeting, clarified that the gathering is a routine exercise held prior to every parliamentary session. He emphasized that the opposition parties are committed to ensuring the smooth functioning of Parliament throughout the session.
The Budget session of Parliament is scheduled to begin on January 31, 2025, and will continue until April 4, 2025. The Union Budget will be presented by the Finance Minister on February 1.
