March 16, 2024: A huge amount of foreign cigarettes smuggled illegally has been seized by the Khatkhati Police in Bokajan, Assam on Saturday.

The illegal cigarettes were seized from a container truck during a regular search by the Khatkhati Police. The truck was coming from Dimapur.

According to police officials, at least 60,000 packets of foreign cigarettes worth over Rs 1 crore have been seized the truck.

Reportedly, the truck driver named Zahiruddin of Dabaka and handyman named Minaj Ahmed were detained and questioned for further more information.
