March 7, 2025: During an accident on National Highway 27 at Jalukbari in Guwahati, Assam on Thursday night, a high-speed 12-wheeler truck lost control, crashed into the divider, and overturned, severely injuring the driver and handyman.
According to reports, the truck, registered as AP16TQ1538, was traveling from Garchuk to Jalukbari, transporting a cargo of brooms.
Initial reports suggest that the front wheel of the vehicle detached due to some technical issues, leading to the crash.
While traffic police officials attributed the accident to the detached wheel, some locals alleged that reckless driving and intoxication were the primary causes.
A bystander claimed that the truck was speeding "excessively" before hitting the divider and flipping over.
They also claimed that the driver and handyman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
The accident resulted in severe traffic congestion in the area.
The injured driver and handyman have been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
