March 18, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a heartfelt letter to NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, addressing her as the “daughter of India”. In the letter, PM Modi expressed his concern for her safety and well-being as she prepared to return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS).

PM Modi’s letter was sent through astronaut Mike Massimino, whom he met at an event. The Prime Minister requested that Massimino ensure the letter reached Williams. In the letter, PM Modi wished Williams strength and a safe return, reaffirming India’s deep bond with its illustrious daughter.

Additionally, PM Modi invited Sunita Williams to visit India, acknowledging her accomplishment and contributions to the field of space explorations.
