March 14, 2025: Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee passed away on Friday, 14 March 2025 at the age of 83, due to age related ailments. As a member of the renowned Samarth-Mukherjee family, Deb left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry.
Deb’s funeral will be held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu at 4 pm on March 14, with several prominent figures from the bollywood industry expected to attend. His extended family including Kajol, Rani Mukerji will be present to pay their respect. Additionally, friends of Deb’s Son filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone among others will attend.
Born in Kanpur in 1941, Deb Mukherjee came from a family with a rich legacy in cinema.
Deb’s acting career spanned several decades, with appearance in films like “Tu hi meri Zindagi” and “Abhinetri”, although he struggled to replicate his brother Joy’s success. His final screen appearance was in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey in 2009.
His contributions to the Indian film Indian Industry will be remembered by his friends, family and fans.
