PM Modi to Launch ₹12,850 Crore Health Projects on Ayurveda Day

October 28, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a series of significant health initiatives tomorrow, totaling ₹12,850 crore, coinciding with the ninth Ayurveda Day and the birth anniversary of Dhanvantari, the revered figure in medicine.

A key feature of this launch will be the extension of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to include all senior citizens aged 70 and above, aiming to enhance healthcare access for the elderly population.

In a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office, it was emphasized that this move aligns with PM Modi’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services across the country. Among the projects being inaugurated is Phase II of India's first All India Institute of Ayurveda, located in the capital. This state-of-the-art facility will include a Panchakarma hospital, an ayurvedic pharmacy for drug manufacturing, a sports medicine unit, a central library, an IT and start-ups incubation center, and a 500-seat auditorium.

Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, situated in Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Seoni, further bolstering the region’s healthcare infrastructure.

Alongside these health initiatives, the Prime Minister will also participate in a 'Rozgar Mela', where he will distribute over 51,000 appointment letters to youth, reaffirming the government’s commitment to job creation.
