Guwahati: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian nationals in a series of operations along the international border.
The individuals were attempting to cross the border for various reasons, including attending a family event and seeking employment opportunities.
The BSF troops conducted special operations in East Jaintia Hills, South Garo Hills and East Khasi Hills districts, intercepting the individuals and preventing unauthorized border crossings.
A vehicle loaded with sugar, meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh, was also seized.
The apprehended individuals and seized vehicles have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal proceedings.
