Imphal: In a significant operation, the Manipur Police arrested a member of the banned People's Liberation Army (PLA) from Langmeidong Mamang Leikai in Kakching district on Friday.

The arrest was made as part of the ongoing efforts to curb militant activities in the state.

In a separate operation, security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including a rifle, a single-barrel gun, and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), from Dampi Ridge in Churachandpur district.

According to a police officer, "Intelligence-based combing operations are being carried out in the hill and valley districts to recover all the looted/snatched/illegal weapons in the state."

This operation is part of the state's efforts to maintain law and order and prevent militant activities.

The arrest and recovery of arms and ammunition are significant developments in the state's fight against militancy. The Manipur Police and security forces have been conducting regular operations to curb militant activities and recover illegal weapons.
