March 29, 2025: A tragic and shocking incident has emerged from Bhairabpur in Kalain, Cachar, where a woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband over suspicions of an extramarital affair. The accused, identified as Shahin Ahmed, has been taken into custody following allegations leveled by the victim’s family.

According to reports, Shahin Ahmed’s wife learned about his alleged involvement with another woman, which led to frequent quarrels between the couple. The tension escalated on the night before the incident, culminating in a fatal outcome. Allegedly, in a fit of rage, Shahin forcefully made his wife consume poison before rushing her to Kalain Hospital. However, despite medical intervention, she succumbed to the poisoning the following day.

The victim’s family has accused Shahin Ahmed of murder, claiming that he took this extreme step to silence his wife after she confronted him about his alleged extramarital affair.

On the other hand, Shahin Ahmed has denied all allegations, maintaining that his wife took her own life by consuming poison. He has also refuted claims of having an affair, calling the accusations baseless.
