Guwahati: A Patna-Delhi IndiGo flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Lucknow on Saturday after a 63-year-old passenger from Assam died mid-air.
The deceased was identified as Satish Chandra Barman, a resident of Nalbari, Assam, was traveling with his wife and cousin-in-law on IndiGo flight 6E 2163 when his health suddenly deteriorated.
The flight crew immediately alerted the pilot, who sought permission for an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow.
After receiving clearance, the flight landed safely, and further assistance was provided.
The exact cause of Barman's death is yet to be ascertained. An investigation is likely to follow, and further details are awaited.
