Haryana Congress Expels 13 Leaders for Six Years Over Anti-Party Activities

September 27, 2024: In a decisive move to maintain party discipline, the Haryana Congress has expelled 13 of its leaders for six years due to their involvement in anti-party activities during the ongoing assembly elections. The announcement was made by the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) in an official statement released on Friday.

The expelled leaders were reportedly contesting elections against candidates nominated by the party, undermining the Congress’s electoral strategy in key constituencies. The party identified these actions as detrimental to its cohesion and effectiveness during the election period.

The statement outlined that the decision was made following reports of these leaders' activities, which included running in elections across several constituencies, including Guhla (SC), Jind, Pundri, Nilokheri (SC), Panipat Rural, Uchana Kalan, Dadri, Bhiwani, Bawani Khera (SC), Prithla, and Kalayat.

“To curb indiscipline in the party and reinforce our commitment to unity, the following persons are hereby expelled from the party for six years with immediate effect,” the HPCC's statement concluded, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining party integrity in the face of internal dissent.
