September 27, 2024: A shocking incident of attempted murder unfolded near the GNRC in Dispur last night, following a heated argument over a boiled egg. The victim, identified as Ranjit Singh, is currently in critical condition at GNRC Hospital after being attacked with a sharp weapon.

The alleged assailant, Robin Biswas from Mayang, was employed at the Shivdham Hotel, located near the hospital. According to the reports, the confrontation escalated quickly after an argument between the two men over past grievances. Biswas claimed that Singh often threatened him while intoxicated, demanding free meals at the hotel.

According to police reports, tensions flared on Thursday when Singh visited the hotel for fast food and allegedly issued threats. This provoked Biswas, leading him to confront Singh later that night.

During questioning at the Dispur police station, Biswas confessed to the attack, asserting that he acted in anger after feeling threatened. The police have registered a case under the appropriate sections and continue to investigate the incident.
