March 10, 2025: In a shocking revelation, a child labour racket has been exposed in Jyoti Nagar, Bamunimaidan, where minors were illegally employed at an industrial unit. Thanks to the timely intervention of a vigilant local youth, four child labourers were rescued on Sunday with the help of the Chandmari police and a Child Protection officer.
According to reports, the minors, aged around 14 and 15, had been working for a long time at ‘M/S Allied Industries’, a company based in Bamunimaidan. Acting on the information provided by the concerned local, the police and child protection authorities conducted a raid at around 2:30 PM.
Initially, the factory management attempted to conceal the children and resisted police intervention by refusing to open the gates. However, after multiple attempts, the authorities managed to gain entry and conducted a half-hour-long raid, during which the minors were discovered and rescued.
Following the operation, the rescued children were placed under the protection of the child welfare department for further care and rehabilitation. Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched into the company’s involvement in child labour, and strict legal action is expected against those responsible.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of child labour in the region and the crucial role of public awareness in combating such illegal practices. Authorities have urged citizens to report similar cases to help safeguard the rights and welfare of children.
